Before You Book

Where do I start?

Most clients begin with a private session. This allows me to understand how you move and create a strong foundation for your ongoing practice.

If you're joining with someone, you're welcome to begin together in a shared reformer session designed to help you build confidence and familiarity with the reformer at a comfortable pace.

Do I need Pilates experience?

No. Many people start here without any prior Pilates experience.

Whether you begin privately or with someone, sessions are guided step by step so you can learn at a pace that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Can beginners book Duo Sessions?

Yes. If you are starting with someone, beginners are welcome to start in a shared reformer session together.

Shared sessions follow a structured format and are ideal for two people wanting guided practice in a calm, supportive environment.

Is there an age requirement?

If you’re enquiring about sessions for someone under 18, please get in touch so we discuss suitability.

What about pregnancy?

If you’re pregnant or recently postpartum, kindly contact me before booking so we can talk through what kind of support would feel right for you.

How do you help me choose the right session?

All clients begin with an intake form and an initial session so I can understand how you’re arriving and what your body needs.

From there, I’ll guide you into the most suitable way to continue your practice.

Is 30 minutes enough?

Yes. A shorter session can be a great option, especially  when starting Pilates or returning after a break. Sessions are paced intentionally so you leave feeling supported, not depleted.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely is perfect. For hygiene and safety, grip socks are required for all sessions. If you don't have a pair yet, you can purchase them in the studio.

What should I bring to my session?

Please bring a water bottle and a towel you're comfortable using on the reformer. Drinking water is available in the studio.

Is the studio accessible?

The studio is located in a home setting and is currently accessed via stairs. Step-free access is not available at this time. Improvements to access are planned for the future.

Is this a home-based studio?

Yes, Self Pace Pilates is a home-based studio in Boronia. We happily welcome clients from Ferntree Gully, Bayswater, The Basin, Croydon, Wantirna, Ringwood and surrounding suburbs across Knox who are looking for a calm, private environment.  A friendly dog lives on the property. He is not present during sessions unless requested.

Is parking available?

Yes. Dedicated parking is available in the driveway with space for up to three client cars at a time, so you can arrive at your session without the stress of street parking.

Your Pace. Your Progress.
